THE FISHHEDZ do the Ska!

The band flavours the traditional ska with a dash of contemporary ska as played by The Slackers and a pinch of Early Reggae influenced by The Aggrolites.

Originally founded 2000 in Cologne, the band had several band member changes, but now comes up with the best formation ever! The steady rhythm section powered by straight offbeat guitar and great organ sounds as well as the catchy melodies of the saxophone heat up the audience eager to dance and make it wish for more. Singer fischa with his raucous and expressive voice and vocalist Chrissy add some great vocal arrangements and provide a crackling intimate club atmosphere.

Their first album 'love 'n crime' mixed by Ekki Maas who already produced the 'Queen Of Ska' Miss Doreen Schaffer as well as german ska icon Dr.Ring Ding does not only cause a stir in this country. After promoting the album in Germany playing gigs with Bad Manners, The Slackers, Neville Stapels (of The Specials), The Granadians and Two Tone Club THE FISHHEDZ toured France with shows in Nice, Cannes and Montpellier in 2005. Followed up by an invitation to France's most important ska festival 'Dance Ska La' taking place in Rennes and Dijon for the next year.

Touring Germany in 2008 THE FISHHEDZ had the pleasure to be part of the "18.Potsdamer Ska Fest", Germany's biggest ska festival, where they played amongst Ken Booth, The Moon Invaders, El Bosso & the Ping Pongs and The Caroloregians.

Their Song "Happy Birthday Lady Ska" was released as opening track on the "50 Years of Ska - The Anniversary Sampler" in 2009.
Concert-highlights of the past years were the 'rhine fever III-festival' playing together with international top-acts like Chris Murray, Babylove & The Vandangos and Pat Kelly and the support for the great guys of Hepcat who were on one of their rare european tours in early spring 2010.

THE FISHHEDZ recently work on their second album which will be released in 2011.
